, is that you? Manhattan mother Nicole Imprescia has filed a lawsuit against the $19,000/year York Avenue Preschool for allegedly ruining her toddler's chances of getting into an Ivy League school. The suit claims, "At age four, [York Avenue Preschool] was still teaching [Imprescia's] daughter about shapes and colors - a two year old's learning environment." She's lucky to get that! Most private schools now consider shapes too "stultifying."

According to the York Avenue School, the "Fours" study five days a week with a curriculum including learning "one alphabet letter each week creating connections between the letter, the sound and the children’s lives" and developing a basic vocabulary in French. That sounds way better than the finger-painting we were doing at four, but Imprescia was under the impression that the school would prepare her child for the ERB, and the suit claims, "it became obvious that the defendant's promises were a complete fraud." Imprescia is demanding a $19,000 tuition refund and wants to launch a class-action case for any other wronged families. Though she could have just saved the tuition and bought her kid some SAT prep when the time came. Or, better yet, someone to take the SAT for them.
