Oswald Feliz was named head of a special committee to investigate and prevent fires similar to Twin Parks, which happened in his district.

“I hope that not having to worry about the costs associated with burying their loved ones will help as they move forward and heal," the Hip-hop star said Wednesday.

For some New Yorkers, the devastating fire that erupted in a Bronx high-rise apartment building 10 days ago evoked an earlier era, when fires were endemic.

The blast marked the second recent tragedy in the Bronx following a fire last week that killed 17 people.

“Let everybody see 15 caskets of their fellow Bronxites being buried because of the condition in which they lived,” said Sheikh Musa Drammeh, who organized the funeral.

Some of those displaced say they have few options outside of temporary hotels or shelters.

In total, seventeen people, ranging in age from two to 50, all died of smoke inhalation, authorities said.

Those allowed to go back reported broken windows and soot-covered belongings, while hundreds of other tenants remained stuck in hotels, awaiting news about when and if they’ll be able to return to their homes.
