Subway rats

The Straphangers Campaign has measured the filth levels at 862 platforms at stations around the city.
Starting this July, they're sealing off 347 rooms used to store garbage bags.
The MTA's current rat eradication method has been ineffective, as any subway rider in any station right now, can attest.
In honor of the MTA's proposal to ban food on the subway, we bring you videos of rats hanging out in subway stations, chilling out and taking their bagels for a stroll.
TWU Local 100 has been doing everything they can to try to get the city to clean up the rats from the rails. They've launched a rat photo contest to raise awareness—a reverse beauty contest.
