Protected bike lane

The plan would do a lot to alleviate hairy wrong-way riding by cyclists coming from the Financial District.
It's like the HOV lane, but more dangerous.
In the proposed plan, cyclists will share their protected lane with buses.
This could mean protected lanes from the Manhattan Bridge to 34th Street in both directions.
Between 2009 and 2013, 27 pedestrians, 10 cyclists and 15 drivers were severely injured in crashes along the corridor.
