Pride march

The event was cancelled for the first time in its history in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, the in-person march had limited capacity, and most of the events were staged virtually.
“We set out to create a march on the first anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. And if we hadn't done that, nobody would remember the Stonewall today."
There was also an alternative Pride event yesterday, the Queer Liberation March, which saw thousands take the streets hours before the official march.
The Pride March is happening on Sunday, June 30th.

This year the march will not end in Greenwich Village.

The big Manhattan gay Pride march happens this coming Sunday, June 24th, but the Bronx had their own event yesterday.
Twelve people were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after obstructing the NYC LGBT Pride March outside the Stonewall Inn, police said on Sunday.
The other grand marshals are NYC firefighter and trans-woman Brooke Guinan; Krishna Stone from GMHC; and Geng Le, a Chinese LGBT activist.
Even the Boy Scouts joined in.
Street closures will last until 6 p.m.
