Indeed, the MTA tells us that melting snow and ice near the West 4th Street station set off a chain of subway delays at prime commuting time. As of 9 a.m., some southbound B and D trains were running on the A line from 59 St-Columbus Circle to W 4 St-Washington Sq, while southbound F trains were running on the E line from Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Av to W 4 St-Washington Sq, though some F trains were running on the G Subway line from Court Sq to Bergen St. There was no M train service between Forest Hills-71 Av and Essex St in either direction, and southbound E and F trains were running local from Forest Hills-71 Av to Queens Plaza.

As of 9:48 a.m. the MTA says service has resumed as usual, but residual delays are mucking up commutes on the A, B, C, D, E, F, M, and R trains.

Oh, but there's good news! Today is the first day that all MTA subway stations have Wi-Fi and cell service, so you're free to tweet angrily at the MTA right from the platform.

Still, while it's very nice we're all able to let the world know we'll be quite late to work, it would be better if we didn't have to be late to work at all...

If you found this commute frustrating, tell your state representatives and Governor Cuomo to stop robbing the MTA of badly needed funding and figure out a way to come up with more cash for a 21st Century transit system.
