Legionnaires

Traces of the bacteria causing Legionnaires disease have been detected at an East Harlem police precinct, and at least one officer has been hospitalized.

After getting a deadly Legionnaires' outbreak in the Bronx under control in August, the Health Department is reporting a new cluster of cases in the same borough.

The cooling tower at Convent of the Sacred Heart has already been disinfected.

Officials say case is not related to the outbreak in the South Bronx.

City and state officials offered conflicting reports as to how many cooling towers were identified in the outbreak.

More buildings have been found to be contaminated but the city says the outbreak is contained.

This comes as Governor Cuomo dispatched 150 inspectors and support staff to assist with testing.

Family members of victims say the city could have done more to prevent a near-epidemic.
