Islan nettles

James Dixon was sentenced today for fatally beating Islan Nettles in 2013.

He is expected to get 12 years in prison.

Nettles was beaten to death in Harlem in August 2013.

Another suspect has come forward to admit to beating Islan Nettles.

The medical examiner says Nettles died from blunt impact injuries to her head; cops are now investigating whether the suspect used antigay epithets during the attack.
