Two men accused of murdering high school basketball star Tayshana “Chicken” Murphy in her Harlem apartment building last month pleaded not guilty today in an emotionally-charged courtroom.
Witnesses say 24-year-old Terique Collins, who was on parole for a previous weapons charge and selling crack to undercover officers, passed the gun to the suspects shortly before Murphy was killed.
Instead of mistaken identity at play in Tayshana Murphy's death, police are "looking into the possibility she was involved in an earlier assault."
An eighteen-year-old girl was shot dead in her Harlem apartment building early this morning in what is being reported as a case of mistaken identity.
