The 80-year-old bakery reopens on Friday following a months-long renovation that's ushering in a new era of bialy-making in NYC.

The 79-year-old bakery will add a sandwich counter to its LES shop and open a second location on the Upper West Side.

Of the many random food "holidays" this month, today's is easily our favorite. Not that we need a reason to enjoy one of the delicacies that New York City does best.
