Officials say the school will be razed completely by the anniversary of the horrific December 14th shootings.

Jesse Lewis, 6, was a student in 27-year-old Victoria Soto's first-grade class, and though Jesse, Soto and a number of other students in the class were killed, 11 of his classmates survived.

The 20-year-old killed the 20 children and six adults in 5 minutes.

The mother of one victim said, "The time is now. Let the state of Connecticut become an agent for change... Assault weapons should be comprehensively banned."

The body of Newtown shooter Adam Lanza has been claimed for burial by Lanza's father, according to a spokesman for the family.

[Update] It seems the Facebook chat scoop was too good to be true: the NY Post has updated their story about Ryan Lanza saying they had been tricked by an impostor.

Nancy Lanza was planning to move across the country in order to enroll Adam in a "school or a center" in an attempt to draw him out from his insular world.

The NY Times wrote, "We were stunned by Mr. LaPierre’s mendacious, delusional, almost deranged rant."

While family got the chance to say goodbye to Nancy Lanza, no one has claimed the body of her son Adam yet.

A family friend who told the Daily News that Nancy Lanza and her son hadn’t talked for three days before he fatally shot her. "He was like a ghost," the friend said.

"I like the dogs because they made me happy," said 4-year-old Kylie, who lost friends during the tragic shooting. "The dogs love me."

The neighbor, a retired psychologist, said two boys saw the shooter and "said he had a big gun and a little gun."
