Does the Standard Hotel's infamous 18th floor bar (often still called the Boom Boom Room) have a standard height for employees? That is what two former waitresses are arguing in a gender discrimination lawsuit against the hotel. Aspiring actresses Faye Rex and Stephanie Jaggers, both around 5'4", claim they were fired shortly after the bar reopened last summer because while they were beautiful and not fat they were also not tall—a no-no that high in the clouds (for the female employees, at least). After receiving good notes earlier, the duo's final evaluations said they were "not up to par." They are seeking $1 million in damages.
