If you're feeling lucky, or even if you're not but suspect your luck is about to turn around any day now, you might as well put that feeling to the test with the city's latest affordable housing lottery for a development in DUMBO.

The lottery for the development at 181 Front Street has a total of 21 affordable apartments waiting for some lucky winners. The cheapest apartments are the nine $895/month 1-bedrooms, which are available to one-person households making between $32,057 and $38,100 per year or two-person households making between $32,057 and $43,500 year. There are also 11 two-bedrooms for $1,082 available to two-, three- and four-person households making between $38,052 and $54,360 per year. And finally, there's a single three-bedroom apartment out there for $1,247/month, available to three-, four-, five- and six-person households making between $44,605 and $63,060 per year.

The 12-story, 105-unit building comes with a gym, a playroom, a roof deck, a 24-hour doorman, bike storage and a washer/dryer, all of which are pretty sweet. Before you rush off to apply, just be aware that 50% of the units are set aside for Community Board 2 residents, 5% are set aside for municipal employees, 5% for people with mobility disabilities, and 2% for people with vision and hearing disabilities. Still, applying for this is cheaper than playing the regular lottery, so despite the crushing odds against you, it couldn't hurt to get your application in by the May 1st deadline.
