While Gothamist enjoys thunder and lightning as much as anybody, he could have done without them repeatedly setting off every car alarm within a twelve block radius of his apartment last night. 1.36 inches of rain fell on Central Park yesterday, bringing the monthly rainfall up to 7.46 inches about twice the normal amount for July. We are still slightly below normal for the year, but we should be above normal by the end of the day today.
Expect showers and thunderstorms off and on all day and night as a series of upper level disturbances pass over us. Gothamist is going wish away the rain by drinking a Hoegaarden with a cocktail umbrella in it this evening.
