A group of about 60 women linked arms across the entrance of Trump Tower on 5th Avenue this morning, blocking passage in and out of the building as they condemned Trump and the entire GOP for what they described as decades of "anti-women, anti-immigrant, and anti-black policies."

Holding signs that read "Pussies In Formation," "Pussy Grabs Back," and "Cunt Touch This," the women chanted their response to a tape leaked last week in which Trump can be heard assuring a since-humiliated Billy Bush that he likes to "grab [women] by the pussy" without their consent, among other things. (Not that Trump's historically had reservations about degrading women on the public airwaves.) "If Trump thinks he runs this town," they shouted, "pussy came to shut it down!"

Organizer Brigid Flaherty said there were about a dozen cops on the scene attempting to keep the sidewalk clear, but "because we had the numbers we were able to hold the space, and we didn't have any problems." The women wore all black, Flaherty explained, as "a sign of militancy: that women are fighting back."

"It's not just Donald Trump," protester Malika Connor told the crowd. "The GOP has attacked women's bodies and our access to healthcare for decades. We are here to say, 'GOP hands off women.'"

The group dispersed around 8:30 a.m., after about half an hour in front of the tower. Flaherty said that honking cars and shouts of "Fuck Trump!" encouraged them. They'll likely stage a follow-up protest for the coming weeks.
