Police are investigating the death of a 26-year-old woman whose body was found in a Brooklyn apartment on Friday night.
According to an NYPD spokesperson, police found the woman's body while responding to a 911 call reporting an unconscious female inside an apartment at 511 Monroe Street in Bed-Stuy. The woman was found unconscious and unresponsive in a room on the building's third floor around 11:55 p.m. last night. EMS arrived on the scene and pronounced her dead on arrival.
A police source told Gothamist that cops found "packaging that's commonly used for narcotics" near the woman's body. According to the Daily News, the woman's body had been in the apartment for nearly eight weeks. An NYPD spokesperson was unable to confirm how long the woman's body had been there or what had caused her death.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
