A woman was struck by a southbound 3 train at 72nd Street just after 11 a.m. today. As of 11:50 a.m., officials said she was still alive, and first responders have rushed her to St. Luke's hospital. An FDNY spokesperson says she's currently in serious but stable condition.

The incident took place at 11:03 a.m., according to MTA officials. Five cars had entered the station when the woman was struck. It is currently unclear how the woman ended up on the tracks. (One commuter who was in the station around the time of the incident claims on Twitter that she jumped.)

3 train currently service is running express between Times Square and 96th Street in both directions. We will update with more information as it becomes available.
