A woman was seriously injured Monday morning after a street vendor backed his food truck into her legs near Columbus Circle, officials said.
The pedestrian was struck by the cart near 60th Street and Broadway at around 6 a.m., according to the FDNY. She was immediately rushed to St. Luke's Hospital in Roosevelt Island, and is in stable condition with injuries that are "serious," the FDNY spokesperson said.
A police spokesperson confirmed that the driver was issued a summons for Failure to Yield. The victim was conscious and "had complaints of pain," following the collision, the NYPD said.
Photos captured by the NY Post show the woman lying in the street moments after she was struck by the cart, and subsequently being put into a stretcher.
It's currently unclear if the cart was still affixed to the truck at the time of the collision.
