Around 12:29 a.m., the suspect approached the woman on a bike and ordered her to "Give me your bag. What's in your hand?" She complied, and then the suspect told her to "Be quiet!" and run towards Manhattan as he continued into Brooklyn. It appears that criminals are discovering the merits of cycling with alacrity.
As the Lo-Down points out, an NYU student was "manhandled and robbed" around 9:30 a.m. in the same area of the Williamsburg Bridge almost exactly a month ago. In a related story, cruel urban explorers and trapeze artists have been arrested on the bridge recently for "stealing" the attention of passersby.
