A woman was raped by a man on the Upper East Side early this morning, according to police.
The NYPD says the unidentified 29-year-old woman was on East 76th Street between 1st and York Avenues at around 4:40 a.m. when the male suspect approached her from behind. He then pulled her into the side of a nearby building and raped her, according to police. He later fled, and the victim was taken to New York Presbyterian in stable condition.
The Post reports that the victim had just left Iggy’s Karaoke Bar on 2nd Avenue, and that the suspect, who is believed to be in his 30s, initially asked her for a lighter before he attacked her.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
