Police are looking for a suspect accused of raping one woman in Brooklyn and then robbing another on Sunday night.
According to the NYPD, the victim was raped at 9 p.m. on December 6, in a Coney Island apartment building: "A 20-year-old female was followed into the elevator by a male, and when she exited at her floor, he grabbed her from behind and displayed a firearm. The male suspect then pulled the victim into a stairwell where he raped her and removed her cash and keys."
The Daily News reports that the suspect "pressed a button for a floor higher than the woman’s, but when she tried to exit on her floor, the man grabbed her from behind in a bear hug and threatened her with a firearm that had a laser shining from it." He allegedly told her, "I’m not going to hurt you. I just want your money," before raping her, and also said, "Now you’ve seen my face, I have to kill you."
The suspect fled and the victim was treated at Coney Island Hospital.
Then, police say, at 9:55 p.m., a 46-year-old woman was robbed after she exited the 16th floor of 2885 West 12th Street: "The suspect followed the victim out of the elevator, displayed a firearm and removed $30 from her pocket book." The robbery victim was not injured.
The authorities released surveillance footage of the suspect, noting he is about 20 years old with with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black & white skull cap, a black leather jacket, gray sweatpants and white sneakers.and was holding a black bag.
