The NYPD is searching for a man accused of beating and raping a woman in her Brooklyn apartment building this past weekend.
According to the police, the attack occurred around 5 a.m. on Sunday, Jun 14th: The suspect followed the victim, 24, into building lobby, near Tompkins Avenue and Hart Street, in Bedford-Stuyvesant. Investigators say he "punched her in the face and head and banged her head against the wall. The suspect then proceeded to rape the victim in the stairwell and then chased her into her apartment before fleeing to parts unknown."
The EMS took the victim to a hospital, where she was treated for bruises on her face and body. Police released video of the suspect, describing him as 25-35 years old, about 5'9" and 150 pounds and last seen wearing blue jeans and a black baseball hat.
