The NYPD is looking for a man who punched a woman unconscious while she stood on the Bowling Green 4/5 subway platform in the Financial District last week. The suspect allegedly approached the woman without provocation and knocked her to the ground. Cops say the two did not know each other.

The victim, a 26-year-old woman, was standing on the southbound 4/5 platform around 5:50 p.m. last Tuesday, June 14th, when she was approached, according to the police. The suspect allegedly came up from behind and said that he was going to slap her before making the knockout punch.

The woman, who has not been identified, fell to the ground and sustained facial bruising and a cut lip. She was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene. He is believed to be between 35 and 40 years old, about 6'4" tall and 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, light jeans and red sneakers.
