A woman managed to fight off an attempted rapist in Manhattan yesterday evening, according to the NYPD.

The authorities released surveillance video of the suspect and say that the attack occurred around 7:15 p.m. on July 11th, near East 102nd Street and Park Avenue. A 31-year-old woman was followed into her building by the suspect, who then tried to rape as she headed up the stairs, police say.

The victim managed to fight off the male suspect, who then fled. He is described as being 18 years old, 5'5" and 130 pounds.
