Witnesses say a woman walked into the path of a southbound B train this morning in midtown shortly before 10 a.m. According to the NYPD, the unidentified female was pronounced dead at the scene at the 7th Avenue and 53rd Street Station, which is currently closed. B train service has been suspended between Brighton Beach Av and 145 Street in both directions.
An MTA spokesman could not immediately provide any additional details about the incident. As of 11:30 this morning, southbound D trains are running on the C line from 59 St-Columbus Circle to West 4 St-Washington Square.
