A woman was critically injured when she jumped out of a dollar van in Queens yesterday.
NBC New York reports, "The woman was a passenger inside the van when police attempted to pull the driver over Sunday afternoon on Archer Avenue in Jamaica. The driver allegedly stepped on the gas when police approached, and the woman jumped out of the van, authorities said."
Apparently the police were pursuing the vehicle because it was allegedly operating as an illegal cab. The van continued on for two miles and then crashed near the Van Wyck. Jameson Golding, 22, was arrested a few blocks away. According to WABC 7, "Some neighbors believe...[the woman] was frightened and she may have felt it would be safer to get out."
