A 60 year old woman was hit by a truck at Broadway and Driggs Avenue yesterday morning. Kazimiera Dolik, a Polish immigrant, had been crossing the street when a private sanitation truck was making a turn. A witness told the Daily News the truck "had the light and was going slow," but Dolik's legs were crushed by the vehicle. The driver did stay on the scene and was not charged with any crime - except for driving with a suspended license.
Dolik is in critical condition at Bellevue. The Daily News also points out this is the second private sanitation truck accident this week; on Wednesday, a worker was killed when his co-worker back their truck over him.
