A woman was found dead in a parked car in Kips Bay in Manhattan today. According to FDNY, the unidentified 58-year-old woman was found in the driver's seat of a 1993 Volvo wagon on Second Avenue between E. 31st and 32nd Streets just after 9:30 a.m.
Sources told the Post that the woman had been living out of the car, which has Virginia license plates.

Locals told DNAInfo that the car had been parked on the corner for a few months now, and the woman would often put messages in her window: "She took out the signs from the back window saying, 'My husband left me and I'm trapped in the car,'" said Deborah Little, who works at a nearby Staples. "And I saw the police talking to her on Monday. I thought they were going to give her a ticket but they didn't."

Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
