A woman walking in Windsor Terrace was assaulted yesterday by a man who attempted to rape her on the sidewalk. Police are searching for the suspect, who was caught on a security camera positioned outside a house on the block.

The incident happened just before 4 a.m. Sunday morning as the 34-year-old woman was walking along 16th Street between 11th Avenue and Prospect Park Southwest. The man snuck up from behind, grabbed her and started to lift her dress up and pull at her underwear. He then threw her on the ground and punched her as he attempted to sexually assault her.

Here's disturbing surveillance video from the NYPD:

The woman was able to kick at the man and fight him off, and he ran away. Police say refused medical attention at the scene.

Police describe the suspect as having curly black hair, approximately 20-30 years old, 5'11, and 180 lbs; he was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and slacks.

In April, a man attempted to rape a woman who was jogging in Prospect Park on a weekday morning. Another man forcibly touched a woman in the park in May; two other men were arrested for allegedly beating and trying to rape a woman in Prospect Park South at the end of May.
