A 31-year-old woman was fatally struck by a pick-up truck driver this morning after allegedly running onto the Hutchinson River Parkway near the Bronx.

The Post reports that the unidentified woman ran onto the northbound lane of the parkway near Exit 3 at around 6 a.m., where she was struck by the driver of a white Ford. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Daily News, the woman may have been drinking prior to getting struck. The tabloid reports that she was arguing with her boyfriend in his car, then "got out of the vehicle at one point because she was overcome with nausea," presumably so she could vomit. Witnesses say the driver was likely unable to see her coming. “This guy was coming and he never got to see her,” a witness told the News. “It happened so fast.”

The truck driver reportedly stayed at the scene, and no charges have been filed. This was the second fatal collision near The Bronx today. Earlier this morning, two people died in a crash on the Bronx River Parkway.
