A 22-year-old woman was reportedly pushing her baby in a stroller when she was fatally stabbed in Brooklyn early Tuesday morning. Police sources told the Daily News that the unnamed victim had been walking with her 9-month-old son near the intersection of Lott Avenue and Bristol Street in Brownsville shortly before she was attacked just before 12:45 a.m. this morning.
According to the NYPD, the woman had gotten into an argument with another person just before she was stabbed in the chest. Officers found the victim in front of a residential building at 120 Lott Avenue.
She was rushed to Brookdale Hospital—less than half a mile away—but could not be saved. Pix11 reports the woman's baby was unharmed in the incident.
Police have yet to release a description of a suspect in connection to the woman's death, but an NYPD spokesperson confirmed to Gothamist that two women were observed fleeing the scene south on Chester Street. No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
