A woman was critically injured by a hit-and-run driver in Park Slope today. According to the FDNY, the 46-year-old victim was crossing the street at Fourth Avenue and Union Street in Gowanus around 12:40 p.m. Wednesday.

According to reports, the driver of the Hyundai Elantra ran a red light on Fourth Avenue before hitting the woman. "She landed on its windshield, flew up in the air and landed on the floor. The car just left," witness Fraydie Liberow told DNAInfo. The victim was taken to Lutheran Medical Center in critical condition with an open skull fracture.

Cops are investigating the incident; they add that the car involved in the hit-and-run had been reported stolen by its owner.
