A tractor trailer driver killed a pedestrian near Kent Avenue and South 10th Street in Williamsburg this morning.

A police spokesperson said that shortly after 11 a.m. today, the 21-year-old man was walking to his car, which was parked on Kent Avenue, when he was hit by the tractor trailer driver. The man was taken to Beth Israel Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:30 p.m. Police later identified the pedestrian as Moshe Weiner, a Williamsburg resident.

JP Updates reports that the victim was dragged by the truck after being hit. According to DNAinfo, witnesses on the scene said the pedestrian was delivering plumbing supplies to a construction site at 42 South 10th Street. This stretch of Kent is currently surrounded by major residential construction on both sides of the avenue.

The driver remained on the scene after the crash, and the NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad is still investigating the incident.
