Actress/playwright/trophy wife Tricia Walsh-Smith is in the midst of a nasty divorce from Philip Smith, her husband of ten years and president of the Shubert Organization, the largest theater owner on Broadway.
And in what will hopefully be a new trend in marital strife, she’s documenting the emotional turbulence with a simultaneously funny and cringe-inducing YouTube masterpiece entitled One More Crazy Day in the Life of a Phoenix Rising from the Ashes. SPOILER:
“Oh, another thing: We never had sex. He said it was because he said he had high blood pressure and was old and I accepted that. Then last year when we went through this I found Viagra, porn movies, and condoms.” Walsh-Smith then calls Smith’s office and tells his shocked assistant, on the speaker phone: “I’m filming at the moment for YouTube. I don’t know if you know but Philip and I never had sex. But he’s got Viagra, condoms and porn movies. Just ask him what he wants me to do with them.” The train wreck continues with a tour of the apartment and an evisceration of her husband’s “evil” older daughter.
According to attorneys interviewed by 1010 WINS, Walsh-Smith’s YouTube divorce flick may be a first. High-profile divorce lawyer Bonnie Rabin says “This is absolutely a new step, and I think it's scary. People used to worry about getting on Page Six. But this? It brings the concept of humiliation to a whole new level.” And Walsh-Smith’s lawyer thinks that “this is a victim who is holding her head up. I think she comes off well.” If that doesn’t make you laugh, you haven’t watched yet watched One More Crazy Day in the Life of a Phoenix Rising from the Ashes.
