Hurricane Sandy brought a huge amount of devastation upon the city, from Breezy Point to the Rockaways, from Red Hook to Staten Island. But residents have stepped up in innumerable ways, volunteering their time, donating money, and spreading information to help those affected by the storm. And we want to hear the stories of your hurricane heroes.

Jonathan Thompson gets the ball rolling with his account of Ken, who generously brought over supplies to volunteers in Red Hook: "Yesterday in Red Hook, the owner of Kenseal construction supplies dropped off an actual truck-load worth of cleaning supplies, generators, flood lights, etc. to the Red Hook Initiative. So very needed and so very generous."
