[Update Below] And the church has a new pope! White smoke has been spotted rising from the Vatican which means that the latest conclave of Cardinals have selected the next spiritual leader of the Roman Catholic flock. Who that lucky man is, however, is still unknown. The name of the 266th pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church should be announced in the next hour.

The new pope will replace Benedict XVI, who abruptly stepped down for the holy see last month. Since Tuesday 115 cardinals have been in isolation voting on his successor. Today's choice came after four inconclusive votes.

Update: And the Catholic Church has its first South American pope in Jorge Mario Bergoglio, or as we will now know him: Pope Francis I.
