For a peek at what New Yorkers were curious about in 2014, Google has compiled its top searches for New York.
Naturally, the World Cup, the weeks-long international event, was #1 for "Top trending searches" and "Top trending news/events" but Avonte Oquendo, the autistic boy who went missing from his public school in 2013 and was later found dead, was New York's "Top trending person."
New Yorkers were also very interested in Flappy Bird, Unemployment Extension, Ferguson Missouri and Captain American 2. They can't let go of Frozen either.
