According to a new study from Opera Software, just 44% of Americans ages 18-27 have used their cell phones to ask someone out on a date. By comparison, 84% of both German and Chinese kids had done so. Well yeah, when you've been banned from sexting all that's left is romance.

The study doesn't look at texters under 18, so perhaps by the time most Americans become adults they have the confidence to ask someone out on a date face to face. The study says that 90% of Americans have sent a photo via text message, suggesting that those dates might have worked out well enough to progress to "sexting" level. And lest you think that the Americans and Chinese have nothing in common, the study also says, "Generation Y in both China and the United States share a disdain for printed newspapers." Blogs 4 Lyfe!
