Something strange happened to the MTA's advisory about weekend subway service—only six lines have changes. Some of those changes aren't even specific to this weekend but are part of ongoing trackwork. Has the rain scared the workers off (update: Sort of!)? Are we getting an early Halloween gift? Does this easy weekend forebode an onslaught of seven-transfer commutes in the future? ONLY TIME WILL TELL, but this is the weekend to go travel-crazy, folks—the boroughs are your $2.75 oyster!

Here's what's on tap this week:

3 trains will skip Rockaway Av and Van Siclen Av in both directions. This change is in effect at all times until late October.

4 trains will also skip Rockaway Av and Van Siclen Av in both directions. This change is also in effect at all times until late October.

Far Rockaway/Lefferts Blvd-bound A trains will skip 80 St and 111 St, a change that is in effect at all times until Winter 2016.

Jamaica-179 St bound F trains will not stop at Ditmas Av; that change is in effect at all times until sometime this fall. On that same line, F trains will not stop at Avenue X, a change that is in effect until Winter 2015. Jamaica-179 St bound F trains will run express from W 4 St Wash Sq to 34 St-Herald Sq, starting at 11:45 p.m. Friday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday.
