The midterm elections were certainly rough for Democrats, who lost control of the House, barely clung to the Senate, and had their pants pulled down by Americans nationwide, who pointed at them and laughed in unison. Now nothing can stop those recalcitrant Republicans from thwarting any modicum of watered-down pseudo-progressive legislation! But at least the Democrats aren't getting hysterical or anything. "It’s kind of like coming out of your house after a nuclear armageddon, dusting yourself off and saying ‘Boy, I’m glad I’m alive’ and looking around and seeing so much destruction," says Rep. Anthony Weiner, who's trying very hard to be brave, just like Rep. Peter DeFazio of Oregon.
