Police are searching for a man who stole a necklace off of a three-year-old in a Queens McDonalds recently. Cops say that the suspect followed the toddler and her mother into a McDonald's in Jackson Heights on August 30th around 1:45 p.m. The man waited until the little girl began walking upstairs in the restaurant, then grabbed the gold necklace from off of her and ran out.

This is far from the first tot theft of its kind, but locals told NBC they were still shocked by the crime: "This neighborhood used to be such a nice neighborhood, family oriented, now you have all kinds of people coming this way," said Jessica Nieto. The suspect is described as around 40 years old, balding, and was last seen wearing a grey button-down shirt and jeans. Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS or log onto the Crime Stoppers website.
