If you're looking to volunteer in one of the areas devastated by Hurricane Sandy this weekend—and they could really use your help!—consider signing up for an NYC Service and New York Cares service project.

NYC Service is the city's volunteer program, and they're sending busloads of volunteers today, tomorrow and Sunday to Coney Island, Staten Island and the Rockaways. Volunteers will help with clean-up efforts, as well as distribute food, clothing and other necessary donations. Today's buses are full, but there's still room for Sunday's and Monday's excursions.

To sign up, check out NYC Service's website, or email SandyRelief@council.nyc.gov with your name, phone number and preferred day; all buses leave from City Hall at 9 a.m., and expect a cameo from Mayor Bloomberg, who will be there to greet you before you head out.
