Police are searching for two suspects accused of robbing a man on Sunday afternoon on the East River Greenway under the FDR. It just so happened that a Daily News photographer was nearby and took vivid photos of the violent incident.

According to the NYPD, the victim, a 37-year-old man, was "sitting on a bench at Catherine Slip and South Street when suspect # 1 approached and snatched his cellphone from his hand and began to flee. The victim attempted to chase after suspect # 1 when suspect # 2 struck him from behind and pushed him to the ground."

A witness told the Daily News, "They gave him two, three punches to the head." The victim was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital and the witness said, "He's doing OK. He got a little scared. He's shaken." The photos show a pretty intense scene.
