Police are searching for a woman who viciously attacked a 79-year-old subway preacher last week, striking him in the head with a gold stiletto and leaving him dripping blood.
The confrontation began aboard a southbound 2 train near Times Square last Thursday morning, according to an NYPD spokesperson.
Video posted to Instagram shows a woman in a fur coat berating the elderly man, who continues to sing softly. "Fuck, your motherfucking Bible and fuck everything else," she shouts. "You wanna get punched in the head this morning, bitch?"
A subsequent video shows blood gushing from the top of the man's head, as some passengers help tend to the wound. The gash reportedly required 30 stitches to close. The man was transported to NYU Hospital in stable condition, police said.
The person who posted the video wrote in a caption that the victim was "just singing some gospel songs and sharing the word of God to people on the train," when the woman went berserk.
"[She] hit him on the head with her heels, threw his Bible away and no one didn't do anything to help but to look at this old man bleed," he added.
The attacker fled the subway before police could arrive. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
