Police have released this surveillance video of a man suspected of shooting a 9-year-old boy in the leg. The boy was biking through East Flatbush at 8:30 p.m. on Friday when shots rang out from a nearby barber shop. The boy was struck in the leg, but was able to bike home, and from there he was brought to Kings County Hospital.
A man believed to be the gunman's intended target said he saw the gunman approach and "knew what was going to happen," and also said 8:30 was too late for a 9-year-old to be out riding his bike. The boy had moved to the neighborhood with his family the day before the shooting, but now says he never wants to play outside again.
