The war of the words between Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and talk show host David Letterman continues, with Palin's appearance on the Today Show this morning. Referring to Letterman's questionable "jokes" about her trip to New York, suggesting that A-Rod might impregnate her daughter and that they should keep Eliot Spitzer away, Palin told Matt Lauer, “I would like to see him apologize to young women across the country [for contributing to a culture] that says it’s OK to talk about statutory rape...It's not cool; it's not funny.”

Letterman had claimed his joke referred to 18-year-old Bristol Palin, but it was actually 14-year-old Williow who was visiting New York with her parents. Palin also slammed "acceptance of a celebrity being able to get away with a disparaging comment that does erode a young girl’s self-esteem and does contribute to some of the problems we have in society.” She said pointed out that Obama said his family was "off-limits," yet with attacks on GOP families, there's a "political double standard."
As for Letterman's dig that she was in New York to pick up make-up for her "slutty flight attendant look," Palin said, "My first opinion was, ‘Don't disparage flight attendants.' They work hard. We love ’em."
