If you thought President Obama got all the zings out of his system after discussing Biden's swimwear on The Daily Show and trading Molotov cocktail-like jokes with Mitt Romney at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner, guess again! Because Obama is on a roll right now—during an appearance in Fairfax, Virginia this morning, he coined the term "Romnesia" to describe his opponent's unique ability to forget his own positions. Watch below.
Obama got the loudest applause when he brought up the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare: “If you come down with a case of Romnesia and you can’t seem to remember the policies that are still on your Web site, or the promises that you’ve made over the six years you’ve been running for president, here’s the good news: Obamacare covers preexisting conditions.’’ He also tweeted it in case you missed the tail end of that zinger.
And like that, #Romnesia has been trending on Twitter all day. Even Joe Biden got in on the action. The best tweet probably goes to the Indecision team: "I hope Obama sends whoever came up with #Romnesia to Pun-tanamo Bay." Romney senior adviser Danny Diaz wasn't as amused though: "America Doesn’t Need A Comedy Routine; It Needs A Serious Plan To Fix The Economy." If we've learned anything from Dave, it's that we need someone who can do BOTH.
