New Nike sneakers were released over the weekend, sparking fisticuffs between consumers fighting to be among the first to pay $170 for the latest in mass-produced footwear. In the Bronx, a chaotic scene erupted outside a Foot Locker on East 151st Street, where a crowd gathered to behold the wonder of the Air Jordan XI ‘Gamma Blue’ and a fight broke out.

And this, supposedly, is "what happens when you skip the Jordan line" in the Bronx:

Not to be outdone, sneaker buyers in a mall in Stockton, California turned a sneaker store into something resembling an unhinged WWE tag-team, but with actual violence.

The Air Jordan XI ‘Gamma Blue’ is selling for $425 and up on eBay, which is pretty reasonable considering it comes with not getting punched in the face.
