The NYPD has released video of a brutal Brooklyn mugging in hopes the public can help track down the man who dragged a woman down a street.

According to investigators, on October 22nd at 11:15 p.m., a 46-year-old woman was walking in front of 847 57th Street in Sunset Park when a man ran up behind her and grabbed her pocketbook. She didn't let go of her purse and the suspect ended up dragging her several feet. Her assailant eventually wrenched the bag free and fled. Here's video of the incident:

The victim was treated for abrasions to her back and head. Her green card, as well as $100 in cash, was in the bag. Her daughter told WCBS 2, "I hope the police catch the bad guy as soon as possible."

The suspect is described as about 5'10" and 140 pounds. Anyone with information in regards to this robbery is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
