The police are looking for a suspect in an attempted rape that occurred in Stuyvesant Town early yesterday morning.

According to the NYPD, a 20-year-old woman was followed into an elevator by a man at the apartment complex at around 4 a.m. on Friday, October 17th. Police say the man then tried to rape her, but she "yelled and struggled with the suspect causing him to eventually flee the elevator."

Video shows the suspect fleeing and making his way down a tree.

The suspect is described as having dark hair and wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.
